Our Beliefs
The Bible:
We
believe the Bible is the Word of God and that it is divinely inspired, inerrant, and historically accurate. We believe
the Bible to be the final authority for life, faith and
practice and is the revelation of His mind and will to man and the infallible and all-sufficient guide for salvation.
God's Nature:
We believe in the Trinity in that
there is one eternal God, who has no beginning and no end, existing in
three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh, that He was born of a virgin, that He had a completely sinless life, performed miracles, and that through His death He atoned for our sins by His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
We believe that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, lived a sinless life and gave it as the atonement for our sin to the Father, so we can be brought into a relationship with God. That Christ by His own will in pleasing the Father gave Himself as a ransom for mankind. That He bore the full penalty and judgment that God's holiness demands against sin.
Salvation:
We believe in the omnipotent sovereignty of God, and we also believe God has given to man a free will to respond to the Gospel and to God's love. We believe that man has been created by God with the ability to respond to this love and message of salvation.
We
believe that mankind was created in the image of God to
reflect his nature. When Adam sinned, being tempted and deceived by Satan (the arch-enemy of God and man), we incurred his
sin and have become depraved sinners in our nature. All of mankind is born
spiritually separated from God and physically dies as
a consequence of sin (Romans 3:23).
We believe that salvation depends entirely on the grace of God: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works." (Ephesians 2:8,9). Furthermore, Christ's death on the Cross for our sins fully solidifies in our minds a tangible expression of the unearned and undeserved nature of our salvation. When Jesus said, "It is finished!" (John 19:30), He proclaimed in three words that our salvation depends entirely on the finished work of Christ on the Cross.
We believe in the absolute inability of the sinner to be saved from eternal punishment by self-righteousness or good works (Genesis 3; Ephesians 2:8-9).
We believe in the eternal security for the person who has received Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior and is thus truly born-again. (John 10: 27-29).
We believe: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16) and "[t]he Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (II Peter 3:9).
We believe repentance means to acknowledge one's sinfulness and desperate need for a Savior, to turn to the Gospel (i.e., to believe the Gospel and trust fully Christ's payment on the cross for his/her sins).
We believe: Christ's atonement is not limited to just some of mankind but was a sacrifice made for all, even though many will reject it: "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction." II Peter 2:1, II Peter 3:9, Matthew 7:14
We accept fully what God say's in His word about salvation:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3
Heaven and Hell:
We believe: "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13, 14).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved (1 Thessalonians 4:17), and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost (Revelation 20:15).
Born-Again:
We believe that it is the work of the Holy Spirit to regenerate believers and that He indwells those believers to whom He has imparted eternal life.
We believe that you must be born-again to enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:1-7; I Peter 1:23).
The Church (the Bride of Christ):
We believe that the early Church met together and "continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers," and that this is God's pattern for the Church today.
We believe that Jesus Christ loves the church and is preparing a spotless Bride for Himself at the appointed time (Revelation 21:2, 9; 22:17).
Baptism:
We do not believe in infant baptism, but rather baptism is a public declaration on one's faith (that is one who is old enough to understand that he has faith in Jesus Christ) - Acts 10:48
Jesus Christ's Return:
We believe that just as Jesus Christ came to Earth at a particular point of time in history, He shall come again at a particular point of time to establish His kingdom; He will come visibly and recognizably, to complete the purposes of His life, death, and resurrection, and accomplish the eternal plans of God.
We believe in I Thessalonians 4:13-17, which states: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
We believe in the revelation of the Lord at His return, to establish His kingdom visibly on earth and to reign in righteousness (II Thessalonians 1:6-10), after which shall be set up the Great White Throne judgment in the heavens for the judgment of "the dead, small and great" (Revelation 20:12).
We look expectantly for the "blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." Titus 2: 13
Israel and the Jews:
We believe God made an everlasting covenant with Israel. We do not believe the church replaces Israel (replacement theology). We believe there is biblical prophetic significance with Israel and the Jewish people today. While we believe that individual Jews need to hear and accept the Gospel just like every human being does, the Bible is clear that Israel (i.e., the Jewish people) is the apple of His eye, and as believers, we have been grafted in.
We reject and detest every form of anti-Semitism (which we shockingly seeing growing strongly within the evangelical church today). We have published two books by living Holocaust survivors and carry numerous other materials about the Holocaust, finding it to be one of the most atrocious acts every committed against humanity and particularly against the Jews. We believe Satan hates the Jews and Christians with a special vengeance.
We have posted numerous articles in the past several years that illustrate our concern for and interest in Israel and the Jewish people. In 2011, we began carrying Tony Pearce's book, The Messiah Factor, which we find to be one of the best books we have read regarding Israel and the Jews.
